Crafting your DREAM BOARD

This is a really fun, easy way to write your goals and to stay focused on achieving your goals.  I hope you enjoy this really great tool.

Follow these simple steps:
  • Write your top ten goals for a 12 month period and be very, very specific.
  • Get a stack of magazines, newspapers, trade journals to search for images that follow your specific goals.  The Internet is also an excellent place to search for the same information.
  • In each periodical, cut out pictures, phrases, symbols that serve as a personal visual image; e.g., if one of your goals is a 1965 red Ford Mustang convertible by (say) 12-31-08, then find that car's picture and a clip with the end of year date.
  • Paste all these cut-out images to a poster-board size sheet.
  • Hang your DREAM BOARD in a very conspicuous place in your home and/or office.
  • Each morning and each evening, take 5 1/2  minutes to visually review your goals and what you will do or have done to achieve those goals.
  • With each goal's achievement, place a giant checkmark through each image.
  • NOW...enjoy your amazing results that occur over the 12 month period.

For all of you parents of pre-teen and teen-age kids, try the same efforts for them and watch the dramatic results.

God Bless America

The men and women serving in our military today do so as  volunteers.  During the time I served in the military (USAF), the draft was alive and well for men over the age of 18.  Today's military are better educated and better trained and equipped for the rigors of military life on foreign land.

We owe a debt of gratitude to those serving today and to those who have served before us.

I urge everyone to take a moment to write a letter of THANKS or send a care package to the volunteer and let them know how grateful we are for their service.

I promise, you will be blessed and humbled beyond your belief by their response to you for taking the time to write and/or send a care package.

God bless America

What You Say, Who You Say It To, How you Say It If you have or can get a list of people who are already interested or genuinely likely to be interested in your product or service then you are well on your way to being successful with your postcard marketing.

You have the answer to a key question. "Who should I send my postcard offers to?" Your next problems are what to say to them and what to ask them to do.

Let's Look At What To Say To Them.
It is vital that you get attention fast.  If you don't get attention fast your offer will not get read.  An excellent way to get attention, and hence get read, is to boldly give the 5 or 6 key benefits of your product or service. Put the biggest benefit on top and list off the rest in descending order of importance.
For example: "How Would You Like To Get: "
   *   Biggest benefit
   *   Second biggest
   *   Third biggest benefit...you get the idea!

People are interested in things they "want." If your benefits are really beneficial to them, they will read your postcard (and if your list is good and you really know what benefits your ideal customer is seeking they will respond too).

Next thing to do is give a very brief explanation of how you can provide the benefits you named.
Next, persuade them to act by giving them a good reason to contact you.

You can offer a testimonial from a really happy customer.

If you have or can give a guarantee, give one. Guarantees take the risk away for the person receiving your postcard.

Make them an offer that no reasonable person who had an interest in your product or service could easily refuse.

How Should I Say It
Urgently ask the people you send postcards to, to order from you or contact you for free information about your products and services.

Example: Now is your chance to take advantage of our special offer. Don't miss out. Call NOW!

Be sure to explain exactly how to order or contact you for further information.
When you follow this structure for creating your postcards you will get good response to your mailings.

My personal thanks to JOY GENDUSA, CEO of www.postcardmania.com for the artile.

Humor Matters...and a personal story

Every day has a certain amount of stress and strain from the worldly pressures that surround us.  We probably cannot control the amount of stress and strain BUT, we can control how we react to it.

Humor is one of the best means to difuse the impact of stress, anxiety, anger, etc.
  •  Laugh and the whole world laughs with you, cry and...you have to blow your nose
  • Don't put off till tomorrow what...you put on to go to
  • Children should be seen and not...spanked or grounded
  • If at first you don't succeed...get new batteries
  • An idle mind is...the best way to relax
  • A miss is as good as a...Mister
 Here is my personal story:

Linda and I have a 3 year old grand-daughter, Shannon.  It is amazing to watch her grow up in these times compared to our simplier times.  Shannon is growing up in a time that she may never know about LP records, CDs, fax machines, etc.  She does know all about digital cameras and especially that the photo can be see on the reverside of the camera.  While my mother-in-law, Mary, was taking pictures at a recent family event, Shannon asked "Grandma O" to "see the other side" of the camera.  There was only one problem, "Grandma O" uses a camera with film.  Shannon may never know about camera film in her life.  Think about that!

What the World Needs Now...

Over the past five months, you read about my pet peeves and how I will make changes in my first acts as the Grand Poobah of the United States of America:

In God We Trust

If it was good enough for the founder fathers of the United States, don't you think it is good enough for us now more than ever?  Can I have a big AMEN?

What is your first edict as Grand Poobah of the United States of America?

MY CLOSING THOUGHTS:

"Life's opportunities never end.  God designed you to be a continual learner, a continual doer, a continual explorer and a continual giver.  HE never authorized a "retirement age" from those pursuits."
...Paula White from her book You're All That! Understanding God's Dsign for Your Life
