Dear God... |
The following are some of the cutest children's prayers shared by a dear friend. If your son or daughter has a cute prayer, please share it with us.
Dear God...
-
Thank you for the baby brother but what I prayed for was a puppy.
-
I am an American, What are you?
-
I went to this wedding and they kissed right in church. Is that OK?
-
In bible times, did they really talk that fancy?
-
I bet it is very hard to love all everybody in the whole world. There are four in our family and I can never do it.
-
If you will watch in church on Sunday, I will show you my new shoes.
-
I would like to live 900 years like the guy in the bible.
-
We read Thos. Edison made light, but in Sunday School, they said you did it. So I bet he stoled your idea.
-
If you let the dinasor not exstinct, we would not have a country. You did the right thing.
-
Please put another holiday between Christmas and Easter. There is nothing good in there now.
Joe

The Leadership Puzzle |
|
The Leadership Puzzle...you are the puzzle you make. (The fourth in a series of four short articles)
How's your self esteem?
Is your self esteem high enough to accept responsibility for your decisions and your actions? The final piece in the leadership puzzle can not be put in place until we secure our personal leadership habits, recognize the principles of being successful and serve as a role model for others. It takes a certain level of educated confidence and self-esteem to support the right but also admit the wrong. CMA (cover my "assets") seems to be driving business strategy instead of HMA (hold me accountable). Finding fault and delivering punishment has become the mantra of our society. Unfortunately, fault is seldom admitted and punishment is liberally applied to both the innocent and the guilty. When will we realize that our decisions and actions are an integrated part of our lives and the organizations we work for? Being able to take responsibility for the impact we have on the world around us takes a solid individual with a very high self esteem. If your leadership intention and focus is not aligned with the vision, passion and purpose of your organization it will be difficult for your contribution to lead to business success. When your leadership skills or results have been recognized you must ask yourself "what kind of leadership example am I leaving behind?" Is it sustainable or will it soon self-destruct? My special thanks to Linda Stiles www.lindastiles.com

Marketing Ideas on a budget |
Now is NOT the time to shirk your marketing efforts. Actually, it might be a good time to refocus your marketing efforts. Let me share some ideas.
- Are you Linkedin.com or inhouston.ning.com? What if I told you I knew a person that was generating over $10 million per MONTH in gross review through LinkedIN? Would that get youor attention?
- What are you actively doing to help your clients grow their business? Could you sponsor a business building clinic and invite your top 25 clients? Don't be shy about introducing your clients to other new business sources. See netweaving.com for more insight.
- Public volunteer service is always valuable to the local community. What are you doing to give back to a very vibrant community that we are fortunate to live in?
- Develop a "Lunch & Learn" program about a topic that you are passionate about. See www.standuptostandout.com for an example.
- With each Lunch & Learn program you host, send out a press release on the topic, date/time and your bio.
- From your database of clients, develop a Keep in Touch (KIT) program that involves personal notes. If you do not want to write each card, let me give you a referral to a representative of sendoutcards.com.
- Develop a postcard mailing program the features your service, product or YOU and let me give you a referral to postcardmania.com and get a JOE STILES discount.
- Combine your marketing efforts with a complementary partner.
- Attend a new group that is focused on "netweaving" (www.hwcoc.org) and expand your marketing reach. Tackle your "usual" group activities a little different; e.g. if you a night person, attend a morning event and if you are a morning person, attending an evening event.

The Art of Staying Young |
I dear friend sent this to remind me of the steps to take in staying young. Read on for some pearls of wisdom.
- Try everything twice
- Keep cheerful friends - the grouches pull us down
- Keep learning - no matter your age
- Enjoy the simple things in life; e.g. picnics, campsites, trips to the zoo, etc.
- Laugh often, long and loud - life can be way toooooo serious
- Tears happen; grieve, endure and move on
- Surround yourself with what you love; e.g. music, pets, hobbies, family, etc.
- Cherish your health - take steps to preserve it; e.g. eat only what God has made
- Do not take guilt trips
- Tell the people you love that you love them...at every opportunity for you may not have a second chance
- Forgive those who made you cry - life is too short to hold a grudge

Think on these things
"When one door closes another door opens; but we so often look so long and so regretfully upon the closed door, that we do not see the ones which open for us."
~ Alexander Graham Bell
"Experience is not what happens to you; it is what you do with what happens to you."
~ Aldous Huxley
"One has to remember that every failure can be a stepping stone to something better."
~ Col. Harland Sanders
